What is the Salvation Army Financial Assistance Fund?

This fund provides short-term emergency financial assistance to families or households experiencing a verified crisis. Assistance is limited to essential basic living expenses and is capped at $200.

Who is eligible to apply?

Families or households in Perry County, Pennsylvania experiencing a financial crisis or urgent need of $200 or less may apply. All applications are reviewed to verify the crisis and determine eligibility.

What expenses can be covered?

Eligible expenses include: Rent; Utilities (e.g. – electric, water, sewer); Fuel oil; Medical expenses

What expenses are not covered?

Funds cannot be used for: Storage unit costs; Fines or legal fees; Security deposits; Personal loans or credit card payments

How do I apply?

You must complete the online application by clicking the application button on our website. Applications are only reviewed during regular office hours.

When are applications reviewed?

Applications are processed during office hours only.
If an application is submitted within 10 minutes of closing time, it will be reviewed on the next business day.
Please note: Our office is closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

How often can I receive assistance?

If you receive assistance through Salvation Army funds, you are not eligible to receive these specific funds again for 365 days.

Can I apply for other assistance if I already received Salvation Army funds?

Yes. While you cannot receive Salvation Army funds again for 365 days, you may still be eligible to apply for assistance through the Join Hands Ministry program during that time, depending on availability and circumstances.

Can I get assistance with completing the online application?
