Salvation Army Funds through Join Hands Ministry

The The Salvation Army funds administered through Join Hands Ministry are intended to provide short-term emergency assistance to families and households experiencing a financial crisis.

What These Funds Cover

Eligible households may receive assistance (up to $200) for essential basic living expenses, including:

  • Rent
  • Utilities (i.e. – electric, water, sewer)
  • Fuel oil
  • Medical expenses

What These Funds Do Not Cover

Salvation Army crisis funds cannot be used for:

  • Fines or legal fees
  • Security deposits
  • Personal loans or credit card payments
  • Storage unit costs

Eligibility Criteria

  • Assistance is limited to families/households experiencing a verified crisis or financial need.
  • The maximum amount available through these funds is $200 or less.
  • Applications are processed during office hours only.
  • Applications submitted within 10 minutes of closing will be reviewed on the next business day.
  • Our office is closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • If you receive assistance through Salvation Army funds, you are not eligible to reapply for these specific funds for 365 days.
  • However, you may still be eligible to apply for assistance through the Join Hands Ministry program within that 365-day period, depending on circumstances and available resources.
